I've read that the patent on the automatic GPS lockouts expires soon and Uniden plans to provide a firmware to go from the current manual lockouts to automatic on the R7 like the 360 currently has.
Also regarding instant-on radar from police, that's why you always have a rabbit (2nd mouse gets the cheese lol).
