Hey Smudo, pardon my naivete, but why would you have to pay the dealer for finding the cause? The issue is obvious, the airbag lights are on for no reason (I assume no airbags actually deployed, you would've noticed that
). Yours is a 2018 ZL1, so it should still be under bumper to bumper. I'd sure take it in and insist that this is a warranty repair.
If they drag their feet, can you easily find another dealer? A good one is worth driving even an hour in the long run IMO.
