The Gen 5 Z/28 was shown at the New York Auto Show in 2013. I remember watching the live stream they showed the C7 convertible, the 2014 Camaro refresh, and then Mark Reuss was all Billy Mays with a "but wait there's more!" and then the Z drove out on stage.
