electrical issue

I have a 2lt v6 and was changing out the trunk bulb and it made a arc inserting the bulb. now my trunk light as well as my front left turn signal, and my rear right turn signal/brake light no longer work. lights hyper flash to tell me theirs a bulb issue, but no warning on the info screen. anyone have any possible insight into this?

cant find no fuse at all, and if its like the 5th gens it should reset itself after a minute or 2 on the trunk light at least. The turn signal issue is odd, never seen that before.

Fuse box is in the engine compartment. Definitely sounds like a blown fuse.

Absolutely, I've done this before and it was always a fuse

chris227 01-24-2016 02:09 PM

OK..Found it, it was a fuse of course it was the 2nd to the last one to check. Thanks

F-46 BCM7 was the fuse. was a 10. whew...started to panic. was really odd to me.

If you look at the underside of the lid there is a diagram that shows all the fuses. You shouldn't have needed to pull them all.

Glad that was all it was

It was bcm7 fuse. Am I supposed to know that's the turn signal fuse? The label has no info related to tailights.

GTIanZ28 01-24-2016 04:23 PM

Nope no way to know that.

Trunk light out already ??

63falcondude 01-25-2016 09:21 AM

I never unplug the battery for simple stuff such as this but that probably would have avoided this issue. 20/20 hindsight here.

Were you changing the bulb to LED, or did the bulb already fail and you were putting a new incandescent in?

Glen e 01-25-2016 10:02 AM

it happens when the LED arcs while putting it in...if you arc, you probably will blow the fuse...
