A10 problem
Guys,
I have a 2019 ZLE A10 with 15,000 miles. Recently , I’ve noticed what feels like a clutch slip when an auto shift from 2nd to 3rd from a stop. I only notice this when the car is cold, and it goes away when the car is up to operating temp.. it feels like a clutch slipping on a manual transmission. It doesn’t seem to be affected by how hard I’m accelerating... normally, I’m light on the throttle since everything is cold Any ideas ? Thanks, Bill |
Mine does the same. I even had the fluid replaced a few thousand miles ago and it's still there. The fluid was replaced because it was time to do so.
The 2-3 and 3-4 shifts in this car are rough compared to the others. Don't know why but that's the way it is when you're just driving around like a normal person. |

I have also noticed this on my A10 when car is cold and not even really pushing it at all. Mine only has about 14,000 mileage and sometimes have a slight delay when upshifting from 3 to 4th and sometimes feel a slight slippage in the gear transitioning.

The A10 in my SS does the same thing. I brought into the dealer and they told me it’s a 10 speed, it shifts a lot and I’m not used to it. I almost lost my mind.

you can use a cheap scan tool to monitor transmission temp and get it in the 200°F range to check for the correct "track level". It isn't hard but a bit weird because of the lack of a dipstick and fill tube, You must add fluid through the check orifice (10mm bolt) in the driver's front of a standard A10 pan or middle rear of a ZL1 1LE A10 pan. My '17 A10 and '21 A10 shift with nearly the same quality and firmness. It is a bit harsh on the 4-5 when cooler on track but is fine after the fluid gets warmer. Neither cars do any slippy feelings 2-3 in auto mode but I bet your situation is normal.

Mines done this since new from 3rd- 4th cold/hot if i am very light on the pedal. The clutches just take longer to engange/disengage. If i am on the gas just a bit, it goes away. |

Guys,
Thanks for the feedback.... my car was not this way for the first 14000 miles. It only started recently... it is a definite change .., it just feels like a slipping clutch prior to engaging the next gear.... seems to go away when the tranny is warm.... only started doing It recently.., She’s my daily driver and track Weapon, so I’m pretty familiar with her .., |
if you haven't serviced the trans yet, do it and see what happens. If nothing changes, then you will know how to procced.
