Camaro gas tank drane

2018 Camaro SS is disabled for a while until I get my new half shafts installed. Is there any easy way of draining 3/4 tank of E-85?? short of dropping the tanks.

I would just pour some Sta-bil fuel stabilizer in there if it's going to be parked for a while.

Just fill it up with 93 octane, that will probably take care of it. What percentage are you at now?

Drain. Disconnect from the rails and empty into a container using the intank pump.

Are you sure that's a good idea at the pressure direct injection runs at?

Pretty sure the tank pump is the low pressure pump and I believe there is a cam driven high pressure pump on the DI engines. I read that somewhere or somebody whispered it to me while I was sleeping.

Got it, thanks. I wasn't sure how the low pressure and high pressure stuff worked on these cars.

Yeah, the pump is the low side, you must run the engine to get it from the rails.
I got about a half tank E 85 right now. I will see the new half shafts in two weeks, so I just may throw in some stabil and bite the bullet!

im not sure about this but i believe you have to jump the fuel pump to get it to drain the tank. It sees that its not getting up to pressure so the ecu shuts off the pump because it thinks there is a leak. not sure though.
