Procharger P1 installed but not doing so well..

Just in case anyone has any guesses as to what this might be. I'm all out of ideas until I can call them tomorrow.

Got my PCM back from ATI (They have to program them there since it's 2017). Car starts and idles just fine, Rev's fine. Race bypass seems to be open even at idle and just driving out of my neighborhood you basically hear it gushing air. Not at all like I expected it to work but googling the Procharger Race Bypass it seems some Vette forums that it may be working as intended. Basically always open until there's 0 vacuum on the intake.

So I took it out a couple times and eased up to near 3k RPM. The moment I go anything near 3/4 throttle it surges, stumbles and I hear heavy cylinder misfire like if I had went and unplugged 2 cylinders.

I've gone and checked just about everything I can at this point. No boost leaks so I'm left just wondering if the tune on my pcm got botched. :iono:

No check engine light so far either. :iono:

My Aeroforce Guage caught about 28 misfires during a little quick drive I tried to make. Maybe I should pull the plugs next.

Did you change the plugs? I believe in the install you are supposed to go to a different spark plug

Yes. NGK's 1 step colder and I gapped them at 0.040. Is that too wide?

The gap should be listed in the instructions

Dysan911 06-04-2017 02:27 PM

yeah its asking for 0.035 . So im pretty close. I can't imagine being off by 0.005 would create the amount of misfires Im getting.

You might be amazed. Recheck all your boots make sure they popped back in place.

I had this issue

What model number on the ngk 6510?
Try this, install the old ones and do a few runs see if it goes away if it does plugs too cold

They're NGK 6510's. I just got finished gapping all of them to 0.035 fwiw. Car idles fine though. Would too cold of a plug only affect 3/4 to full throttle?

i have a D1 procharger and evrything is fine until i go on the highway and go in 3rd or 4th gear punch it and it picks up nice then all the sudden it surges real fast like almost stall feel for like quick mil second. i had a place check the tune and he said it was the air fuel ratio not getting enough fuel up top, so he tunes it and says it should be better i go home drive on the highway and it still does it so annoying that tuners cant find whats wrong,,

This maybe totally unrelated but just reminded me a little of this thread.

Update: With the help of several folks we tracked the issue down to Cylinder 7. Turned out there was a cracked plug and an issue with the MAF Extension wire.

I put in a stock plug on #7 and took the maf extension apart to pull the pins back into alignment.

Took it for a test drive and finally got to experience the power!.. What a difference. No misfires, No kock, just warp speed.

I did get a couple DTC codes though. One regarding the TPS Sensor and 2 others regarding the Barometer sensor. I do. or should I say now 'DID' have a vitesse controller on the car. I don't know if somehow that causes the TPS Code. The other two codes will occur if:

P2227 trouble code definition

Either the barometric pressure sensor is providing a reading that does not correspond to the parameters of the ECM about the atmospheric conditions, or the output of related sensors such as the throttle position sensor or manifold absolute pressure sensor do not correlate.

We will see if it goes away now that it's removed. If not I might need a new maf extension cable from ATI.

B.

If I recall correctly, I had the same code issue with my '16. Let ProCharger know. Mine was an issue with the tune that they sorted out.
