Programming a replacement instrument cluster

I have purchased off of Ebay an SS instrument cluster for my 2016 V6. Does anyone know how I can reprogram the odometer reading to match mine? The replacement shows about 8000 miles. Mine is at 22000 miles.

I know the dealership has the ability to reprogram gauge clusters, but correct me if I'm wrong, I believe they need a code from gm to be able to do so, at least that's how it is for some dealerships.

I know they can do this to replace a malfunctioning odo, but I'm not sure if they will do it just because you have another one and want to put it in.

Probably should've found the dealer willing to do this and got the price before ordering. Hopefully you have 14 or 30 day returns through ebay.
I think it will be technically possible, but suspect the dealer is going to want a few hundred for the "reprogramming."

See this thread. It may help.

I'm going to do this myself for my 1LT. I just spent the day on the phone with my GM dealer and parts shops and I think you'll find the dealer's won't reprogram them for you. They often don't know how and are likely told by GM not too. I think it may be part of the upsell for the 2LT enhanced package so you buy that at the time for the extra $$$ and don't just upgrade the display later, like most of us LT/RS owners want. The thread above quotes a company called White Audio and Media that will do it for you if you mail the cluster to them. They reprogram it and mail it back.

Does anyone know if you can put a zl1 cluster in an SS both are 2018

The ZL1 cluster has a boost gauge where the battery/amp gauge would be. Don’t know if it would be worth the cost to swap out since you wouldn’t need a boost gauge in your SS unless you have a supercharger. The cluster is basically the same as the SS.

Exactly that, they’re the only ones that will program it. It also depends on the model number of the cluster, I believe the best method is getting a cluster which is from the same engine as your car but contact them for more info

If you have the 7” screen then you lose the volume and favorites paddle underneath the wheel, if you have the 8” then you need this Gen5DIY harness to get some features
