Hot Wheels with Edelbrock 2650

I pulled the trigger for the Edelbrock 2650 item 15595 for the Hot Wheels. I took advantage of the cyber Monday 15% off and free shipping. It was a long process of deciding between the Magnuson and Edelbrock.

Wish you could have went with Magnuson but congrats on your purchase as that's a good percentage off.

I made great progress today. I got the disassembly compete and I am ready to start the assembly process. I heated the crank bolt and used my air impact and it came right out. I replaced the LT1 crank seal with a LS3. Thanks for the heads up EDFHOBBIES! The only concern I have is that the LT1 crank Seal seems it is install backwards. The flat side of the seal was facing inwards. I installed the LS3 seal flat side facing outwards. Hope this is correct. I see why the LT1 seal fails with higher boost. It super thin.

These seal should have been installed at the factory. The LT1 seal as you can see if very flimsy. I pushed mine out last year and Ls3 is the fix. Just do it.

Choice choice replacing the seal. I would also advise installing a Metco valve cover breather that has the one way disk so it only vents to atmosphere under boost.

Day two.....Got the pulleys, belts and supercharger installed. I plan on using the GM CAI. Its a close fit with the supercharger belt drive but I think it will be OK. The instruction that came with the kit and the online one have some missing or misleading steps. The map sensor and brake booster hose is misleading. I hope to have everything done by next Sunday providing I get the tune from Edelbrock. I plan on running their tune for a few months.

Suggest checking with Edelbrock on what parts their tune was made with. The GM CAI needs an adjustment to the MAF calibration, so if they used a stock airbox when they developed their tune, it won't match your setup.
