Soaps that DO NOT affect coating/sealant/ wax behavior.
There are many names, and are wanted for different (but really the same)things. Let's make a list!
Car Shampoo / Soaps that DO NOT have gloss enhancers Car Shampoo / Soaps that ONLY clean Car Shampoo / Soaps that are good for coatings Car Shampoo / Soaps that don't change the hydrophobic behavior Car Shampoo / Soaps that leave NOTHING behind Such as Soap------ wash bucket dilution []price per gallon of soap CarPro Reset ----- 2.5oz per 5 gal []$85 a gallon~ Geyon Bathe ----- 1.2 oz per 5 gal [] $100 a gallon~ Meguiar's Hyper-Wash ----1.4 oz per 5 gal []$28 a gallon NanoSkin Hyper Suds ----- .8oz per 5 gal []$35 a gallon Adams Car Shampoo ----- 2oz per 5 gal []$39 a gallon Possibly Chemical Guys Citrus Wash Clear* ---- 1oz per 5 gal [] $25 a gallon *(Chemical guys....one page says its a clean rinsing basic wash, another page says it enhances gloss. The label on the smaller bottles say it enhances gloss, the label on the gallon does not. So the usual chemical guys issue of great product with ham fisted marketing) I have reset. Its fantastic in everything but price. Soap with less in it should cost less, right? The nanoskin is supposed to have very high lubrication also, but for $50 less a gallon. I have citrus clear, not a lot of lubrication at its normal dilution. |
I ALWAYS use RESET, I don't trust anything else, that said, LOL
I just tried "turtle wax ICE snow foam.!!! I was impressed, clean rinse for sure. I might now do Reset every other wash. |
I just got another reply from nanoskin(two on a sunday night, wow!)
It said if all you want is to clean and leave nothing behind, hyper suds is what you want. Hyper Suds dilution ratio is .8 oz per 5 gallons. Cost $35 a Gallon Reset is about 2.5 oz per 5 gallons. Cost $85 Gallon Apex detail shampoo reviews said Nano Skin Hyper Suds was the most lubricating shampoo he tried (until he used Reset.)He thought it was so concentrated it was hard to dial in for different uses(comments on one of his two videos on it.) For the huge price difference I think it it would be the great normal use. Then go to reset for really nasty, grimy washes for extra lubrication. I'm ordering a gallon now, will report back once I use it. |
I've used Adams and Reset on my PPF/Gtechniq coated Z.
Both clean the car. Probably just my perception, but Adams seems to do a slightly better job removing grease & fingerprints, seems easier to rinse off and had lower haze than Reset. |
I use this combination of 2oz CarPro Reset in foam cannon and 4oz Adam Car Shampoo in bucket. Tried a lot of other soaps but I’ve been using this combination on three cars all year. Maybe overkill and expensive but it works.

It may not be the most efficient, but I use Greenway's Car Shampoo. Full disclosure, I use a "splash" of shampoo because I don't have time to measure for every wash bucket. I also increase froth/foam with my pressure washer. It foams great and you can pick any color/fragrance you want when you buy which is cool.
They recommend 256:1 ratio, or 1-2oz per gallon. https://greenwayscc.com/collections/...ys-car-shampoo |

Also, I buy Greenways wholesale at about $18/gal. If you choose to list a price, I'd go with their retail cost which is closer to Hyper Wash. |
