The 2016 Camaro SS is powered by the 6.2L LT1 V8 engine, making 455bhp and 455lb ft of torque. How does the engine put down its torque and power?
While there’s been no independent dyno of an actual 2016 Camaro yet, the LT1 engine is also used as the base Corvette C7 Stingray engine. THIS DYNO shows how the LT1 from the Stingray puts down its power, and is plotted against GM’s LS7 and LS3 engines for comparison.
Note: While the Camaro SS uses the LT1 engine, it’s not exactly the same engine found in the Stingray, however, with around 20% of components changed, including a new exhaust manifold.
