Sell 1978 Camaro for 2010-'11?

I'm considering selling my 1978 Camaro Type LT for a new SS, 6-speed. I've received mixed reviews for this and I want to get the perspective from new Camaro owners, particularly SS owners. The car is in mechanically good condition and a very clean driver. The car looks almost show worthy from 20 feet away but its flaws start to show as you get closer. The car is basically stock, which means it's very slow. It's also an automatic, which has bugged me for the 10 years I've owned it. Let me know what you think.

I'm not sure if I want to sell it or not yet. I just want to get some opinions to see if I'm crazy or I have a good idea.

Well, it all depends on what you are going to get for it, and if you want to go to the hassle of selling it yourself. Make no mistake, you will get your head bumped if you try to trade it in at a dealer.

You should also get an estimation on how much it would take to fix the defects before offering it up for sale. A few dollars now might net you a bigger return at an auction, etc.

Had a 78 back in the day and the 2010 is a must faster and all around better car,so unless you want to keep it because its a classic. I would sell it and get the 2010.

Thumbs up

If it is all original, KEEP IT!!!
If it has low mileage and you enjoy it, KEEP IT!!! She looks like a nice car.
GOOD LUCK!

All depends on what you think you can get for it. I have no idea what those go for.

Honestly, keep it. It's going to be worth more in the long run.

I mean, look... enter it into Barret Jackson but set a reserved price that no one is going to beat. I know that it sounds ridiculous, but this will let you know how much you can get for it at auction.

For me, it would be a no - brainer to keep it actually. Once you lose a classic, it's gone forever (unless you're Papa John). The new Camaro will be around for quite a while so you can always save up and buy one down the line and have both.

The '78 will not bring really big bucks anyway so I say keep it and buy a new SS outright!
