2023 Camaro 2ss

Can anyone tell me why there are so few 2ss available right now in Canada and when they are upping or starting production for them as I have been waiting on an allocation list for over 2 months now. Just wonder if anyone can help out with this.

Back at the beginning of March I put an order in for a 2SS at a Ontario dealership. I'm told I'm about third in line for a Camaro and it should be picked up by the factory shortly. When I did some research on the Canadian version of the 2SS, I found out that less than 400 were made in 2022. So as much as I like the features of the 2SS, more Canadians are chosen either the ZLI or other versions.

I ordered my 2SS 1LE in Aug 2022 and got it Dec 1st 2022.. It was like 4 months..

Couldnt believe how fast it came.

On that note.. i do believe that there was a constraint on 2ss camaros though for a while.. i also dont think the dealerships bring in to many 2ss since most people are good with the 1ss for the cost saving, unless its an order.

I've been waiting since September 2021 for a 2SS 1LE.

The lack of transparency with GM's allocation process is infuriating! GM won me over with the 6th gen Camaro, having never owned an American car before. But this is likely going to be the first and last GM product.

Is the year of 2021 a typo? That is just insane if it's not. I ordered a 1SS 1LE in October of 2022, so roughly 7 months. That's a long time, but your wait is insane. I don't think I will ever see the car. GM is a joke.

No typo. I placed the 'order', if you can even call it that now, on September 18, 2021 at the same dealer I purchased my 2018 1SS 1LE from. But here we are more than 18 months later and still nothing. I talk to my sales person every month, but there's nothing they can do. Allocations are a mystery, even to the dealers it seems. The sister dealer to the dealer I'm working with got a 2SS 1LE as a dealer order last fall (which sold the day I noticed it on their website). I've talked to other dealers and they're no better off. It just seems to be completely random, with guys like SMURFSUP getting his car in 4 months.

This isn't even the first time I've been screwed over by GM's allocation system. When I first attempted to buy a 2018 1SS 1LE in the spring of 2017, the dealer I went to at that time strung me along for months before finally admitting they couldn't get an allocation, and I was talking directly to the owner of the dealership. So I lost out on all the incentives and had to start all over again in the fall.

Apparently I'm first in line for the next allocation my dealer gets, but I'm not holding my breath.

That's crazy. I've gotten the same story about allocations from my dealer as well. They have no communications with GM at all and then suddenly the car shows up. I doubt that will happen to me though since my order is a 1LE as well. I have pretty much given up on ever seeing the car. I also ordered a C8 Z06 with the same dealer but I bet I never see that car either. GM is becoming more incompliant by the day.

Just my HO, First I would look at any restrictions that Canada may have slipped by you. If you read the order status thread, you will see tons of built with no or delayed ETA. And a quick google earth tells the story of a sea of cars to be shipped at Lansing in the US. I blame the Biden and transportation secretary, It's a mess. IMH opine. People don't like truth sometimes.

I don't think they give a damn. They don't really seem to like money or appreciate customers anymore. Maybe they are just too busy concentrating on building their electric car future and don't want to worry about some pesky customer that wants an obnoxious V8 powered car. Kind of a bit of tongue in cheek there, but only a bit.

Sadly. Look at this snapshot of their homepage, see if you can find anything of substance here besides EV and ESG/DEI (hope the pic won't be truncated, it's large).
