Ok, Going to order the Camaro - Advice?

Boss (wife - best friend -love of my life) discussed it and we will order the Camaro,

I have a build, nothing too extreme - it will be Roach resurrected, anyone have advice for making it smooth in these trying times?

Yes, I have ordered cars in the past, but these times are different.

Should I contact someone on here?

My best advice is to look at Chevy inbound inventory adjusting for the model you want, use that list of dealers and ask simple questions like:

How many of .. have you had allocations for this last year?
Do you have an open allocations?
What are the requirements for placing an order?
Do they sell at msrp or try to get purchase order agreement when ordering.

Ideally try to get the information from the sales manager not just a salesperson they typically don’t know. Some dealers require a deposit others don’t. Based on this market the dealers that aren’t asking for a deposit know that they can sell it with adms to someone else if you back out.

Make sure you walk out of there with the build GM work bench sheet and a order number.

I'll add more detail:
  1. How many allocations were you provided for the type of Camaro i want for this year?
  2. How many allocations have you already used for this year?
  3. How many orders are ahead of mine?
  4. Do you allow orders without constraint to "jump ahead" of orders with constraint.

Any dealer knows they can sell a Camaro these days, they don't stockpile on lots. Dealers that ask for a downpayment want to make sure their time isn't wasted and this benefits serious buyers.

Order

- 2SS
- Dual Mode Exhaust (to get the 4 pipes)
- Mag Ride Control (Why not, Camaro is being discontinued)
- Red Calipers (just looks bad ass)
Pretty much anything else can be added... Unless you have to have a Convertible or a Sunroof...

- 1LE if you are so inclined (I didn't get it in 2020 because I wanted the A10 and back then only could get the M6 on the 1LE)

This is your LAST chance to get a new Camaro, order EVERYTHING you want, you'll NEVER have another chance...

(Glad to see you've come back from the Dodge side)...

Get a ZL1, you’ve already had the previous ss, I’m guessing you want something faster? Since you have the scat pack.

Fran, you may think KSZLE is kidding, but you may actually want to consider hitting up LeonardS. He does have some clout, even showed photos of his car making progress on the assembly line as people were working on it. Desperate times, desperate measures, you know.

I still say you should order a ZL1 convertible, there will not be another chance, those are very rare and will probably be in high demand by the time you're ready to sell.

Inbound inventory is 2022 models. Ordering would be for a 2023.

Based on his wants, there is "nothing available" coming in for the 2022's (something like 21 total convertible M6's in the entire country with a V8).

You can modify the search by changing the year in the url to 2023. Just note customer orders don’t typically show on there.

For example I included zl1s just in case he wants to upgrade 😀

It looks like Costco is doing the auto program for Chevrolet right now.

Go through Costco to avoid the dealership trying to take you for a ride with ADM and ordering shenanigans. When ordering, they will try to squeeze you because they know you want something specific.

I bought mine through Costco.

I am not buying a $78K car. So ZL1 is out. I am a mid $50s kind of guy.
