Need some opinions on 1le canards

I need some outside opinions here

I bought a 2018 zl1 and the previous owner installed the 1le canards. Was not even on my radar and if it wasn't for the deal I got on the car I most likely would have passed on the car in favor of the standard zl1 bumper vents and leds.

My plan was just to swap back didn't think it was a bug deal. Later found out about the holes in the bumper. Bumper has rock chips galore so I'll likely repaint it over winter (I have a prolonged winter break where I'm off work) so I'd patch the holes and swap over then.

Fast forward to now and im considering painted the canards black (like infinites car which is gorgeous BTW )or replacing them with CF parts from trufiber ( not sure whose car the second one is but both images I found searching this forumn. Last pic is mine as is now

Appreciate any input, I know it's a subjective topic

I think they're ugly but if you're a track rat, they serve their pupose.

I think they look mean on the nose. I prefer the shiny black ones on a black car vs the carbon fiber.

Looks like you don't have the 1le bumper so the previous owner made holes in the bumper. If you don't have the 1le rear spoiler either so the canards are pointless. I personally like the clean look and led running lights of the standard zl1 but unless you want to spend $800 on an unpainted bumper I would stick to painting the canards gloss black.

That first car looks familiar!

Here's something I've learned putting canards on a base ZL1. I've never been 100% happy with my decision due to never getting proper "poke" from to match. I think the poke is doable with the 20s, but I'm not 100% confident in my measuring abilities with suspension. If I was to do it all again, for look of my car as it sits now, I'd not have done the canards. Simply would have looked better without them and making the wheels flush.

That being said and with yours already having them... I got a great deal on some Forgestar CF5Vs this weekend in ZLE specs and once I get them refinished and some tires on them, I think I'll be 100% content with my canard decision.

This is the route I went, 1LE splitter and grills, 1LE rear wing and custom offset wheels flush with the fenders.

Like I'd said originally I wouldn't have gone out of my way to find a car in this state, but thiught it was a simple swap at the time, and the price of the car was right along with all the other options I wanted.

I wasn't a fan of the canards as far me they are purely aesthetic,, and I much preferred the standard look. At this point though I'd be lying if I didn't say they have grown on me and add a bit of agressiveness to the front.

Really leaning towards the cf canards and vent covers at this point I think

Same here, was anti-canards when I got mine but have grown on me for same reason.

I think carbon versions if can swing it, if not paint them body color or mosaic black if want to change it up a bit.

Good luck with the install. The clips for the bezel are a bitch to work with.

I'll find out tonight, but given they didn't use the proper clips for the canards I expect the same for the bezels.....

I removed the canards last week before making my decision. They used interior panel clips instead of the little wedge clips. I bought a 50ct pack of the proper clips.....

What is your current wheel setup? I never realized how much standard ZL1s have a lot of room to get the right poke . That's my focus is to get the wheel stance right.
