5th gen OEM polish ZL1 rims on 6th gen ZL1

So I asked if anyone had put the OEM 5th gen ZL1 polished rims on a 6th gen ZL1. As I could only find an SS owner thinking about doing it and photoshopped the wheels on their car.

I bought the rims and mounted Supercar 3 tires on it. These will be the track set as they have a little more curb rash than I would like as I would have liked for them to be the street set, oh well.

They are the same offsets and size as the stock 6th gen ZL1 wheels. They aren't rubbing anywhere and fit fine. Yes. I could have spent more money on a "proper" set of track rims but I'm just going out and having fun and not trying to set any track records. Now I just need to get to the track and have some fun!

I wished I could have used them as the street set because I do like how they do on the car.

Is it fixable? Maybe a wheel repair place can do it?

It's the usual curb rash that everyone gets. All 4 rims have a good amount of it. I'm sure they are fixable but I bet it's not cheap and then I'd have to get them back to the polished look.

I'm sure I'd spend more money on fixing each vs buying a brand new set from GM. They're like $5xx each from previous research.

They look good on your ZL1. I know one thing for sure that they will be easier to clean verses the stock 6gen ZL1 wheels.

I think they look great. They will be far easier to clean.

Should only be about $100/wheel if it's only curb rash. That should include mounting and remounting the tires.

Then I'll need to get it polished. Like I said, not really concerned about it because the money and time spent on it, I would have been better off buying actual track rims.

Hell, it took me over a month to find a place that would mount these things. Because the place backed out after saying that they could do it or they want $75 per tire for mounting (no tires to unmount). Not even the local Chevy dealers would do it. Saying "those wheels break our machines".

75 a tire? That's insane.... Discount tires would do it for 100 all 4. Just go over the conditions of the wheels with the service manager before they do they work so if they damage your finish, they can pay for refinishing..

Places around here are stupid on pricing for a simple task. I went to Firestone and they did it for $97. I'm the person who brings the wheels and new tires to the business and don't have them jack up the vehicle, mount and remount the wheels on the car. So it's an easy 30 minute job or less.

Most places say XX price over the phone or on their website but then jack the price up once you get there.

Yeah I do the same. I don't trust them jacking up my Corvette or the Camaro. The others cars ... Don't care

If you have a AAA Car Care Center near you, they do it for $25 a tire and balance. Don't have to be a member of AAA to use the Center.
