Heatsoak; from 118 to 124mph
Just went from 118mph to 124 from a hot 85F day to a cold 55F day. The heatsoak is the sheetmetal intake, that I am 100% sure. It never did that much a difference with the stock intake. The car has more in it, withthe 0-60ft of 1.90sec.
Going back to a stock intake. Stock hood and sheemetal is a no go imo. You need agressive ram air or big heat extractor. Car is a turd when hot, plain and simple.

It would be interesting to see how hot it gets with one of those thermal lasers. Do you know the IATs between the two times?

I do not have those, but I can assure you that you would burn your hands just touching it on a hot day but today you could put your hands on it without a problem. Those sheetmetal needs a cowl hood or a big ram air. I'll have data with a polymer intake...next year..or maybe in october.

Wow, 6mph is a huge difference. What sheet metal intake is on there now?

I think this is what they mean by the phrase "First World Problems".
"... I was driving my Camaro at 124 mph and the intake started experiencing heat soak..." Lol. Seriously though, I hope you get it sorted out. |

I know it has a solid 126 pass in it. I am really wondering what it'll do with a polymer intake. The nicest setup Ive seen is a transparent plastic ram air added on top of the intake, thru the hood. That is a really air grabber
