Super charger Oil change?
Guys
Just curious I’ve just seen specific oil for our super charger.... (Cf picture) Does anybody know where is the suck&feed connection to change this oil ? Has anybody done this job? When do we have to change it? (Didn’t find any recommendation on the manuel neither here) What is this oil for ? Lubricate the pulley or the propellers? Any maintenance advice for this? Tx |

there are youtube videos on how to change it. long story short the SC has to come off and there is a screw you drain and fill it from in the back side if i remember correctly.

You shouldn't need to change the oil for thousands of miles. Magnuson's didn't require it for over 100,000 miles. These systems are totally sealed so maintenance is required like oil changes. Now maybe GM's Lt4s are different.

I read a lot time ago the supercharger oil only required a change after 100K miles. That's the only interval I've seen, but I'm not suggesting that's what the current interval is, or if it shouldn't be changed sooner.

Well, this is news to me. I didn't know the supercharger had oil that needed changing. I certainly didn't see any mention of it in the manual. Learn something new every day.

For all who are still running the Lt4 check your owners manual.

Current LT4 supercharger is self-contained unit that needs no oil change until like a gazillion miles

Kong will change the oil for free if you allow him to port your supercharger.

I think the older non intercooled blowers required oil chances every 50k. Like the old supercharged 3800s. the newer Eaton stuff is usually good past 100k. If you have a higher mileage car and the blower is coming off it can't hurt to change it.
