GM High Flow Filter

Can anyone send me the link to the thread or part# that contains the GM high flow filter for the Z28 air intake?

This is not to be mistaken with the oem filter that comes on the intake... I remember reading a while back about a higher flowing (race use only) filter GM offered for the Z28.

I cannot for the life of me find the thread on here. Thanks!!

ive never heard of a "different" filter other than OEM...it already is a high flowing CAI, not much more you're gonna do with it lol (its also sold as the "upgrade" for the lower model camaros).
GM only shows 1 option...

https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/auto-p...ir-intake-scat

The chevrolet performance upgrades page has this part: https://www.chevrolet.com/performance/gen5camaro/intake
Which is this on gmpartsdirect - https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...ntake-23454578

Looks to be the same as the OEM Z/28, yet it says the vehicle will no longer be emissions compliant, so <shrug>

Agreed. As far as I know, the only filter offered (by GM) is the OEM filter. And since the intake for the Z/28 was developed and designed by K&N, it's already a high-flowing conical filter.

No idea if the filter is high flow or not but it’s embossed ‘Z/28’ on the end. Definitely should be it’s own part number.

The filter that comes with the kit has the Z/28 marking on it. GM did offer a high flow panel filter but not a Z/28 cone.

I’m getting closer in my search... here’s the one for the LT1 GM Intake. I know they made one for the Z28 because it was in a parts catalog when it came out. I just can’t seem to find it.

The high flow panel filter was the OEM ZL1 filter.

I have the Z/28 CAI in my SS. How often are your 'real' Z/28 guys changing that element? Thx.

I haven't changed mine yet and I've put 15k miles on mine. I regularly clean it out though. It's probably about time to put a new one on.

If you buy the cleaner then should be able to blow it out(inside out). Then spray cleaner on and wash it off with tap pressure water. Similar to k&n filter without the red goo spray. That’s what I did with it but have a new filter just in case. Once I change it, I’ll post if it really makes any difference and if not I’ll put the old one back on.
