Anyone else's Mylink stop working with iPods recently?
Maybe it's just my car- 2015 w/Mylink- but suddenly no iPods work properly with it. It'll lock up on the first song and play, but can't skip songs. The display stays on the first song even when it changes to a new song and takes forever to index. Sometimes it just says it can't read it. I've tried three iPods and three cables... but there was a recent Apple update. Anyone else's fail after recent iPod reload?
The way it acts seems like a software problem, but the software in MyLink doesn't update without being deliberately done.

I have issues with mine too. It’s an older ipod, but works fine otherwise. If I skip a few songs it will lock up and then switch to radio. Once the ipod unlocks, the shuffle mode has been turned off and it has switched to playing through all songs alphabetically. It does not happen all of the time, just randomly.

Since the MyLink software isn't changing, I'm assuming it must be Apple's updates.

Set up a folder on your pc with all your music in categories or however you want. Download to usb and plug it into the usb port in the armrest. Works perfect. Your usb can be any size. I've got thousands of songs at flip of the switch.

What model(s) of iPod are you using? I have a Gen 5 iPod Touch (runs iOS 9) and am not having any trouble. I used to have occasional lockups with a Gen 4 Touch but not as bad as yours sound. They would usually clear after a couple of minutes.
If you have newer iPods running iOS 12, maybe a recent Apple update messed things up? |

I'm running the last version of the Nano- I've got two of those and then tried a really old one from back when they had the round control button on the front. I've got a couple older touch models around I can try.
I'd just do a USB drive if everything I had was just MP3, but a lot of my more recent stuff is downloaded from iTunes and in their secure format. It's gotta be something with the newest OS- and Apple will just say it's GM's issue to update theirs even though Apple is the one changing things. Chevy won't update the MyLink most likely, or at least won't make it an update one can do without a visit to a dealer. I'm retired from running dealers, and one thing I can tell you with certainty is that the vast majority have no clue what they are doing and they also will charge FAR more time than it really takes to run an update.

Mine is doing strange things. It would always run CarPlay thru the USB, now it does it thru Bluetooth. And while I’m ranting, Car Play starts a Don Henley album every friggin time. I’m sick of it. Ironically, he blocks nearly all his music on YT, etc., and I can’t get rid of him!
My computer did a total unsolicited upgrade recently. You cannot convince me those middle of the night downloads don’t fill it up with so much crap it dies in a predetermined time frame. Then you need a new one to start the whole process over again. You are not in control of your car, phone, computer, life!!!

Don't know if you still come in here. But my 2015 won't integrate Pandora into the Mylink "as Pandora". It works through bluetooth but obviously you lose the ability to control it from the radio. Are you having the same issue (presuming you still own this car)? My phone is also an android.
