'06 G35 Sedan VS. '10 2LT

My buddy has a 2006 G35 sedan and hes been trying to tell me his car would whoop my Camaro. I would've already found out if I was comfortable enough with the manual trans. to have a quick drag down the street, but its still so new to me, I'm afraid I'd do something bad to the car. Anyhoo I just wanted your guys opinion on what is the better performing car. Thanks alot in advance for any and all replies

Is he coupe or sedan? To be honest, He'll probably take you either way. But it will definitely be close.

Yeah you would getted whipped. Esp, if its a coupe. I had a coupe staying with my on the highway while in my M6, given he was always two car lengths behind, your car shouldn't stand a chance.

Now this is a close comparo, Both Vehicles Stock for Stock

I think the Coupe' would strait up take you, not total blow out but a sound victory. The Weight difference being the main factor, both engines make very similar power. Now.... the Sedan weighs more, on the order of 3650lbs... is 100lbs greater then 7-8hp? I think it is maybe slightly, but there really close. So here's what I think.

06 G35 Coupe vs 10 2LT = Advantage G35
06 G35 Sedan vs 10 2LT = Drivers Race

Though the Infiniti G35 comes with just one engine, it should satisfy all but the most power-hungry drivers. This smooth-revving 3.5-liter V6 makes 280 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque when hitched to the five-speed automatic transmission. Models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission get a 298-hp and 260 lb-ft version of this engine. The G35 is rear-drive, but automatic-equipped G35 sedans are eligible for an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system.

Now, those performance numbers are from Car and Driver, Oct 05 and with a 6M car. So tell me again how the G35 will whoop the Camaro? Looks like more of a drivers race to me.

If anything it needs to go to the track! It sounds like a good day at the drag strip! Smack talk before, then go race at a local track, then BS about how the loser was robbed or mis shifted over dinner and beer

G35 sedan is listed at 3650lbs(approx) and has 298HP
Camaro 2LT I think is listed at 3750lbs(approx) and has 304HP.

Sorry I didn't say before but he has the five speed auto. I'm guessing that changes things considerably...

Probably not that much, but I still say drivers race. Those g35 numbers I posted are right in line with the Camaro's. So don't miss that shift, lol!

This is what everyone needs to look at, not car times by magazines. The g35, stock for stock, is faster then the camaro. it weighs 100 lbs less, and only has 6 less hp.

Yea, it should be a driver's race. Those old g35's aren't that fast. The g37 is a different story...
