Brembo on 2019 2ss 1le squealy

Are brembo 6 piston brakes on 2ss 1le common to constant squealy sounds unless the brakes are applied? Brake bed in was done fine etc, but I am reading the brembos are just like this....am I wrong any knowledge regarding this?

Yes they are, need to warm them up by pumping lightly while driving...

Yes it is normal for performance brakes. Specially just before the car stops. Sometimes it is really annoying. It stops as soon as you brake a bit harder.

If you mean they are squealing even when you aren't apply the brakes at all, no, that sounds like something is wrong. If you mean squealing when you're applying the brakes lightly, yes, it's normal. You can get ceramic brake pads since they produce less brake dust and tend to be quieter.

See:

I highly recommend Hawk ceramics. I had a 5th gen that was screeching. The Hawks are very quiet. There was maybe an occasional period of squealing if it just rained, but otherwise, they are silent in dry weather. I also noticed my red painted calipers tend to require a lot less cleaning. The only downside is I think they might have a little less life than stock. but they're still worth it.

Its the nature of performance brakes - they have a lot of surface area on the pads.

Now if you drive and use the brakes like a normal person, you will most likely have some light squealing as you will tend to use light gradual pressure when stopping. This is fine for just about every car, however with brakes like these, it just ends up polishing the rotors (makes squealing worse) and glazes the pads.

With my 1LE, I had these issues immediately. I drive 60k miles a year for work in a company car, and really developed some conservative driving habits because of it. I had to take my pads off the front, skuff them up with 60grit paper and then skuff up the rotors with a 2" 120 abrasive disc while spinning the rotors. I have also switched to PowerStop street pads vs the 1LE track pads due to the dust.

Once I had fresh surfaces, I just make sure I am paying attention to not drag the pads. Basically since I have started doing this, I have had about 3000 miles of squeak free brakes. However, you just have to make sure anytime you have to use the brakes, you are not using less than 20% of pressure. Even if you have to stop a little later than normal.

This is common on any car with performance brakes - saw awhile ago that Porsche America posted a video about it, that basically said "there's no getting around it"

Try bedding them.

60-20 - hard stop, repeat 3 or 4 times

Park it over night.. by morning, should be perfect.

You need that hard braking to take off the edge and allow surfaces to marry so they vibrate less.

Worst case, it smells a bunch

Mine squeal every now and then with light braking and like it was mentioned above stop with more pressure. Still find it a bit annoying when pulling up to a red light or in traffic. Never had a new car do that but in fairness I've never had a car like this!

No, they should not be squealing. I've gone 5000 miles on my SS 1LE through multiple track days, re-bedding, etc, and never heard a single squeal. Not once.

I only get a minor peep here and there and when I clean wheels and tires I be sure to get back in there and saturate the calipers, too. Most every time my squeak disappears.

The stock brembo pads are semi-metallic. They bite harder and are more likely to squeal than a ceramic pad. They are also harder on rotors. This is basically a track-ready pad. I just switched to power stop ceramics because I had to take the car in for front DTV/pedal pulsation twice and I am only at 17,500 miles (first time new rotors, 2nd time they resurfaced). This is a daily driver for me, and I don't track the car.
Any brake pad uses a combination of abrasive and adhesive friction to do its job. A semi-met is mostly relying on abrasion, while a ceramic is mostly relying on adhesion.
