2013 ZL1 - Alcantara sucks?

I love the 5th Gen Camaro, and I love my 2012 SS, but who isn't at least a little curious as to what the ZL1 is like. Dealer down the street had a used one on the lot, so I took a look. The power of that machine is incredible. But the interior was a major turn-off. Especially alcantara everywhere. The leather touches on the 2SS are just perfect, IMO, and adding alcantara mixed in so often just seems cheap and busy. It also had some weird red/black checkerboard for the plastic accents.

Am I alone in this?

I don’t like it on the steering wheel.

But love it on the shift knob, seats and dash.

I love it in my car. You know it’s far from a cheap fabric! Some of the most expensive exotic vehicles have it as well. It cleans well and feels new again every time. My Recaro seat keep me planted because the alcantara.

I like it in mine as well.

Sure it gets matted down but it's easy to clean

I love the ZL's interior. Even better would be the ZL's interior capped off with the Recaro Sport Seats! Mint.

I love my Alcantara, this is the first time I've heard someone say it is "cheap". I guess someone had better notify Lamborghini!

Nope. Who said anything about quality? We're talking about looks, pay attention.

Wow. It appears I am indeed alone in this, at least among the Camaro guys. Well, if ya'll love it, great!

BTW - I know it is all the rage in supercars, and I am dumbfounded. I think 5-10 years from now people will look back and wonder what they were thinking, like bell bottoms and leisure suits.
