Why I love my Hot Wheels

While at work today a mother, her 8-10 year old son and teenage daughter came in the store. They asked if that was my Hot Wheels Camaro in the parking lot. I said it was. The mother said her son had camp all week and on the daily trips to and from camp was looking at the car. Mom decided it best to ask permission to get a closer look and take pictures of the car. It was at this point the boy pulled the 2018 Hot Wheels Camaro out of his pocket to show me. I told him I had the same one in my glove box. I said sure you can go take a look and pictures. They left and I hurried up to finish with another customer.

I went out the door and remote started the car while the family was around it. The initial startled face of the boy quickly changed to that devious smile and laugh I still get when starting the car. I opened the door and let him sit in the drivers seat while his mom and sister took pictures. The smile on this kids face made my weekend.

I'm glad that some kids are still collecting cars. That was the thing when I was a kid in the 60's. We played hard with them! Did not keep them in the box. I also had same experience in my neighborhood when a mini van pulled up next to my hw camaro and a mom took a picture of her son with it. If I could have got outside fast enough I would have let him sit in it as well.

Fear not kids are still into cars. Kids are always checking mine out when I am driving and when my sons friends come Over the check it out. One of his friends (8) even took a video of it unbenonced to me. One day it’ll be on his YouTube blog lol

Nice story. I often take a box of miscellaneous Hot Wheels cars to shows to give to young kids who show a special interest in the cars (after asking the parents of course.)

Nicely done!
You just made that kids day!
Would be interesting seeing what cars are in his future, just because of the kindness of a fellow Camaro enthusiast

I think the Hot Wheels is the most head-turning version of the 6th gen. It sticks out from the crowd with its rims and paint job.

I say we should have kids choose all colors on new cars. We would definitely end up with a lot less shades of grey.
