What Size (Beer) Cooler Fits?

The weather is finally turning nice in Michigan which means camping is right around the corner! Last year my trusty cooler was the one thing that I couldn’t fit in the car, so I was wondering if anyone had found a cooler that would actually fit in the trunk of our cars that holds more than a 6 pack? Mines a ‘13 hardtop, I’ve heard the convertibles have smaller trunks.

Did you get the offroad package from Chevy with your Camaro? Interested to see how one would go camping with one, due to limited space and a low front end

I was given a yeti hopper 20 soft pack. It fits no problem and can hold about 20 cans. They do make larger ones. I would not spend that on a cooler but i have to say it was pretty amazing. I put the beer in the cooler and in about 2 hours they were half frozen. They stayed crazy cold all day. There are others out there that are cheaper but the yeti did have a very heavy duty water tight zipper. The same used on dry suits for diving.

Just put a trailer hitch on it and you can tow a small trailer loaded with beer and your camping equipment.

Took this one to Camaro Fest 7

I forget how many cans of soda and water + ice I put in there but I'm thinking it was at least a case of both.

I'll try and remember to get the manufacturer and specs on it when I get home tonight.

I have actually considered a hitch to get one of those cargo baskets to strap my cooler to. Wouldn't be the worst option!

Is there a difference in the trunk opening between a '13 and a '15? I remember reading the trunk lids were different.

Not real sure but I'd be happy to measure the opening for comparison and report back.

That's hillarious! Proof that some people have too much time on their hands.

The body is the same. Only difference is the shape of the top of the trunk lid.

Personally, I have a couple medium sized hard coolers that fit fine. One's a Rubbermaid and the other a Coleman. Both are about 18"x12"x15". Anything less than like 15-16" tall and less than 12-15" wide should fit.

I've fit my entire camping supplies and gear inside the car. I'm amazed at how much stuff you can actually fit in the car. Best part is when the people see a Camaro driving through the campground

Why not lower your back seats and slide it in that way. That opening is just too small. Thats what she said.
