People throwing a fit about the SS...
Reading this forum you'd think everybody owns a SS. I drive for a living and between that and being on the road during my own time I've seen a 6th gen SS a grand total of 4 times. Those bright horizontal LEDs really stand out in traffic.
I can't tell the 4-banger from the 6 but I see either one of those almost every day. From what I've seen so far, the RS refresh looks pretty decent in silver. Most likely even better in black. If the general public feels the same way, Chevy has nothing to worry about. |

That's true, I4/V6 accounts for what, 75% of sales? Valid point

It's because the refresh looks really really hideous. It's too polarizing and will drive sales even lower.

I have only seen 1 SS in the wild and that was because I bought something from an owner. The SS and ZL1 are very rare around me. Have seen a few I4/V6 camaros

This seems to be norm with refreshes. Everyone complains, then warms up to the car. You make a great point regarding the lower trims being the bulk of the sales.

I went to a car show/meet and was kinda surprised how many people were looking at my car, I didn't park "in" the show but got there early and ended up being in it anyway as more cars arrived. They are all over dealer lots, so why.....
The 1LE turbo looks the best of the new ones, and that thing may win over some import customers. GM needs to get a dealer installed "Stage 2" or something that will bump the numbers over a Civic Type R or R32. The prices probably won't be far off.

SS is pretty easy to recognize since it has the hood scoops and in back 4 pipes, i have SS but bought it used and there was no SS badges on the back, but obviously when you hear me step on the gas, you know its a v8, not a 4 or 6

I think the current 6th gen already looks great, but it is clearly a design which is not appealing to everyone unlike the more european looking Mustang. With the refresh they should have made the car look more clean and subtle, so people who don't want a very aggressive styling would buy a Camaro.
With the refresh they made the look even more polarizing, and right now I don't see any reason why you should upgrade to the refresh since they haven't really pushed modern features (no ACC, no lane assist, no digital gauges, etc) - Stuff the Mustang refresh already has. They needed a car that pushes the sales on top again, but I can't imagine many people would want the Transformers 5 car, since the movie also was easily the worst in the franchise |

A lot of people on this forum are just really dramatic.
They freaked out when the 5.5 came out. They freaked out when the 6 came out. Surprise, surprise. They're freaking out about the 6.5. If anything, people need to be welcoming this refresh. The 6th generation Camaro is not doing well. And if not corrected, we could be looking at another 2002 incident. Rest assured. They'll be changing it again in a few years.

They wanted to appeal to the female population and made it a 'CHIC' car.

Like a lot of models the refresh ends up be like a sequel movie. Most are pretty bad.
I'm sure some of the refresh will grow on people but I got to tell you adding that bow tie to the bumper would be a deal breaker for me. If anything I tend to want to de-badge my cars. The way they did this you're stuck with it and in a big way. The tail lights also seem to be something that was ordered from a ricer site and just stuck on the back of the car. To each his own but I'm thinking this isn't an upgrade. |
