Why or Why Not is the Gen5 Forum Dying?

You read it here from time to time - 'The Gen5 forum is dying.' Then someone says it's not true. But if it is, why? If it's not, why?
  • People sold their Gen 5 Camaro?
  • Bought a Gen6?
  • Bought a Corvette?
  • People left Camaros altogether?
  • Almost 9 years and it just ran its course?
Living or Dying

forums slow down overtime. its normal as the hype of the product or brand that the forum is for dies down overtime.

The older the gen gets, the more people move on to the newer generation Camaro, simple as that

Social media/networking pages, such as Facebook, is another factor IMO. Many people will find it more convenient to post a question to receive an almost-immediate response. Forums will always be one of the best resources for searching thoroughly discussed topics and technical bits.

yeah as time moves on this will become more of a group of hardcore Camaro enthusiasts. I bet half the people here over the years have just been people that bought the car, wanted to hang for a bit in a forum, and will eventually buy a different car when their payments are done. The rest will stick around and appreciate the car for a long time

As time goes on I suspect we will see a lot more "Why doesn't my car start?" etc. problem threads as the cars get older.

I would agree. it is a society of newer is better so the hard core members will remain while many move on. Change is the one constant in the world.

I hope not. I learned about 99% of what I know about my car through this forum. Two of the best things I immediately learned here is the skip shift eliminator and of course, the catch can.

Now you know the difference between people who jumped on the Camaro bandwagon and the true Camaro enthusiasts. They just have to have the newest, greatest thing until the next thing came around.

That’s why people come on here and literally brag about selling or trading their 5th gen for a 6th gen, Corvette or Mercedes (etc.). It’s like “Hey you peasants, you’re stuck here with 5th gens and I’m moving on up, moving on up, to the east side.”

I certainly hope this forum keeps on kicking. I'm new here since I just bought my Camaro last summer. But I have learned a lot from this forum.... a lot. And it is definitely the best 5th gen on the internet, the others don't even come close.
