Question Add Heat/Cool to 1SS 1LE seats

Has anyone successfully added the heating and cooing function to the 1SS 1LE Recaros? I realize there are other threads asking about this but they are pretty dead. Trying to see if anyone succeeded. Thanks!

I know there is but trying to revamp the thread and interest. Plus the old thread is very confusing and very long. Just trying to see if anyone actually succeeded and can share what they did. Very curious....

the old thread did seem to fizzle out. I'm still very interested in someone providing a simple solution. I would pay some decent money for a good kit that makes this stuff work.

It is the main feature that's pushing me to a 2SS.. so I'd agree. If someone figures out a PCB design and provides specs that would be nice.. I don't mind building the control box myself just need someone else to figure it out

Should be easier now if a 2ss driver can be a homie and let some electric savvy person check it out and figure out a kit. Surprised gen5diy didn't jump on this seeing how this is right up their alley and something highly requested. Here's to hope that someone figured it out. The original people on the old thread taking charge seemed to have lost steam, so either they hit a impossible roadblock or figured it. I hope it's the latter.

It likely isn't a good business model for them considering there are a VERY limited number of vehicles that have the Recaros with the heat/cool disabled.

Plus it isnt a simple plug and play, there are pieces needed from a 2SS HVAC system and BCM programming needed in order for it to work.

If I knew I could get the BCM programmed, I would have no problem buying the parts from the 2SS HVAC system. I daily drive my car here in Chicago, having heated/ventilated seats would be great.

Has anyone tried the SS coupe seats? I found a recycler selling the entire set of seats front and rear for 1200.00 heated and cooled front seats that are the same as 2SS seats? They look the same....

The 1LE seats are already the same one that the ZL1 uses and already have the heating/cooling parts in them, so buying a set of 2SS seats wont do a thing as the same problem will exist.

-Wiring missing under the seats
-Need the 2ss HVAC unit for parts
-Need the BCM customer programmed

IIRC the wiring going to the plugs in the seats is missing all of the terminals/wires for the heater and fan as well. So you can't just buy the HVAC panel and have the BCM reprogrammed.
