Windshield fogging issue fixed on 18s?

Thinking about coming back to a new ZL1. Did GM remedy the fogging issue for 18s?

I currently own a 2018 ss 1le, and they have not fixed this issue. Hope that helps.

Have you contacted your dealers to see if there's been a TSB on it. Also I read on here that someone was having HUD problems and they were going to have to replace the HUD and someone else wrote in and told them to fix the fogging issue since they were going to have to remove the windshield.

Well that DOES suck.

They are oblivious to this issue.

Forget the TSB - use search to find that story. Spoiler alert: The TSB doesn't work.

Maybe some more NHTSA complaints will get their attention:

I was really hoping GM fixed this issue. I want to pull the trigger on a 6th.

They don't all leak. Not sure of the variable, may be actuator mounting or travel.

If you can find what you want in stock, just check for defroster leaking cold air w/ ac on.

I may drive 2hrs to Miami to a large dealer (244 - 2018 Camaros currently in stock - 17 ZL1's / 45 SS's) to find a defect free unit.

From what I understand, the fogging occurs at the "right" temperature and humidity. I take that if it leaks, it is strong enough to feel it your hand?

You will feel it coming out of the defroster vent in AC mode.

In AC mode, the leaky defroster chills the OUTSIDE of the windshield and causes condensation build-up.

In OFF mode, the defroster seeps warm moist air and fogs the INSIDE of the windshield.

Higher humidity definitely makes both conditions more probable.

Here's that thread I was talking about. Maybe one of you guys could send a PM to the Op and see if he had it done. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...&highlight=hud

Seems to vary from Car to Car. A friend has one. His barely dogs up if ever. Mine? Takes up half the damn windshield. I fixed that problem though by not using the AC in the morning and putting the windows down a bit. It’s fine then. Lol. And in the afternoon I can crank the ac up and no issues unless it’s rainy out. Some people just use a cloth and others have come up with covers that block the air. It’s annoying that GM doesn’t have a true fix... It’s been 3 years. However, it also doesn’t surprise me.

Actually the TSB worked for me. I've only had the issue one time since having the TSB done and I was purposely trying to cause it. Even then it was a much smaller spot then it used to be.
