Track MPG

Whats everyone getting for MPG at the track? well not necessarily mpg, but how much of your tank is used up typically after a 20 min session? Just trying to gauge how much I may need to bring with me.

Thirsty. 5 mpg. Count on 1/3 tank per session.

I mean... I would fill up right before. You don't really want to be on track with less than 1/3 a tank, you want the pump to stay submerged and there are no baffles in our tanks. I doubt the difference between a full tank and lets say 2/3 of a tank will be felt or noticed unless you are quite experienced.

Low enough that Green Peace was protesting me exiting the track.

I assume he is asking how much additional gas to bring to the track so he doesn't have to pay their prices. I would bring 5-10 additional gallons for a typical track day (4-5 sessions).

I see between 6-8 mpg but I'm probably not on the throttle as much as Provoste

On E-85. I showed up about 3/4 tank. I ended up using an additional 15 gallons of E85 and I was bone dry at the end of the 4th session. I actually had to pull off a few laps early... Ended up putting 91 in it and driving her home after that. E85 is awesome fuel for the track because it just doesn't detonate. only thing that sucks is that its a pain to haul to the track every time. The reward/peace of mind is worth the hassle.

Count me in the 5.1 MPG club. She's thirsty.

This was after a 20 minute session at Daytona, from grid back to our pit. I can't do four 20+ minute sessions without having to get more fuel. And I have a V6.

5.8 mpg for me. And that is based on the fill-up, not the dash. Last time as Sebring, I had about a half tank or so at lunch time. Then burned an entire tank of fuel after lunch since they had open track because of prior weather.

I burned a 1/2 tank in one 25 minute session at Road America.
