Squealing brakes
Around a week ago my front brakes started squealing at low speeds. When I put my foot ok the brake the squealing stops. What could this be?

How long since you washed them? When I had my '16 would usually start about 3 days after washing the car. Heck, my ZL1 does the same thing.

Replace your brake pads (with something other than OEM ones, too many choices out there for it, just do your own research and know it's purpose. Ei: Performance street, street/track, track only etc) and your problem with be solved. A couple things you CAN do to help with it if you want to hold off on replacing the pads... 1: Use a legit cleaner for your rotors (like BDP, brake dust professional clear, many products exists) and keep it clean! 2: 10 mph to 0 mph hard braking (kick in ABS at least once, after that you should be fine but #1 above is utmost important) which will get more contact of pads to rotors as well as more brake fluid to cut down on the noise. Or just flatout replace the pads and call it good. |
