2017 ZL1 1LE caught on the streets

Camaro ZL1 1LE caught on the streets. Front and side view look good, but that wing is terrible!

Why is the wing terrible? The car is clearly tailored for the track, the wing and front dive planes fit in perfectly with the purpose of the 1LE package.... clearly not for everyone, that's why they make a ZL1

More associating the look of something with an unrelated group that modify their cars strictly for look (e.g. ricers). That's mod profiling.

If you appreciate the performance and function over form, you can get past the look being abused in other circles.

Nah, its called having your own opinion.... The Mclaren, Audi, Volkswagen, Bugatti, hell even the Chrysler Crossfire all have functional wings. And some of them raise extremely high. However they raise and lower according to speed. I think that would have looked better.... in my opinion. I bet most of these cars will sit in a garage and be driven on weekends to cars and coffee. On the track I bet it functions perfectly! On the street, it doesn't look so hot. But hey, I never said you shouldn't like it. I respect your opinion

Yep, the wing needs a quick release and custom trailer for transport to and from the track...HAHAHA...

On one hand it is unfortunate that the ricer label gets applied...but at the same time it looks heinous on the street...the trunk is already tiny, why not add 50lbs via a retractable rear wing setup?

Looks fine to me. Form and function don't usually go together

Don't you think most of those Mclarens, Audis, Bugattis, etc don't also sit in garages, most likely are driven to cars and coffees, and never see the track? What's wrong with that? And yes, active aero is cool but also extremely expensive. I'm sure cost was a big factor for the aero package GM chose to use.

To each his own. I like the wing regardless and part of the reason I do is that it sets the 1LE apart from the rest of the ZL1s. When you see it, you know what it is.

But thanks for sharing the vid!

Maybe that wing won't look so bad in person. Remember the standard zl1's wing was the object of so many people's disgust until some laid eyes on the 1le's wing. Imo, the standard wing isn't that bad when you see it with your own 2 eyes so maybe the same will hold true for the 1le.
