E-85
Is it possible to run E-85 without any modifications to the OEM fuel system.
The car is a 2012 Camaro Rs with a 3.6L V-6. Any advice is appriciated! |

You need a flex fuel sensor and some upgrades as E85 required more fuel to be burned. So a bigger pump and injectors are usually in order.
What mods do you currently have. E85 won't offer much of a performance upgrade on a stock motor. |

You need these components and tuning software to enable the sensor and adjust a few settings.

E85 has less energy and you might get some MPG increase but you'll need to burn more of it.
Why can't you just keep running gas?

How do you get better mpg if your burning more fuel. I have a company car, Impala, with flex fuel and I get less miles to a tank with E85 than regular 91 octane. Just curious, thanks. |

E-85 will give you less gas mileage, around 20% less. With tuning changes you can get more rwhp using E-85. Depending on what mods you have, you can get up to 302 rwhp with an auto and upto 316 with a manual. Overkill has the conversion kit and the tune for E-85.

The question is: why are you interested in running E85? My opinion of it is somewhere between a worm's belly and the IRS audit man.

If he wants to add a blower its a valid idea. If not then no reason. I have considered switching to E85 several times. There isn't an E85 station around my home town. My Blown Vette would enjoy E85.

I run E-85 and picked up 60hp and got rid of the meth kit in place. I replaced pumps, fuel lines, and injectors with my upgrade
