New engines? 2018?

According to a Corvette news forum. In 2018 we will see a new VVT 32valve LT5 for the corvette only....so why am I posting something here? Well attached is a engine code list for GM products 2018.....I noticed that the Camaro will drop the 2.0T and the LFX 3.6...but I noticed that it will retain the LT1 and LT4 .....BUT IT'S GOING TO RECEIVE THE LF3 TT 3.6LV6!!!!!!!!

No way they can drop both the 2.0 and 3.6 without similar replacements. Something isn't right...

Also I can't really imagine which version of the Camaro would get the TT6... Theres no way they would put this in the upcoming Z/28 so my only guess is we may soon have 2 engine options for the SS for the first time. I don't think this could be an option on an LT due to the extra wieght and higher torque #s that could strain the other powertrain components in the LT. Just my thoughts.

The CTS and ATS are also book A. Appears to go by platform.

In full disclosure. I know for fact CTS was book A but am assuming ATS too but I didn't look and didn't save a screenshot

The LT5 is probably the ZR1 Vette. The Camaro and Cadillac ATS share the same platform which is why they are all listed. I seriously doubt there will ever be a TT V6 offering for the Camaro platform in 2018.

LT5 and no SC designation!!! If it's a higher-revving version to replace the LS7 then all is right with the world

6.2-liter aluminum-block DOHC engine with GM book code "Y"

GM Authority reveals that internal GM documents indicate a dual-overhead-cam engine is headed to the Corvette in 2018.
The documents, which have since been removed from the internet, point to a 6.2-liter aluminum-block DOHC engine with GM book code "Y"—marking the motor as a Corvette exclusive.
According to the GM documents, the current 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated LT1 and 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 would remain available in 2018, marking the DOHC engine as potentially a limited-production high-performance option.

The only other time a DOHC engine has been featured in a Corvette was the Lotus-designed LT5 that powered the Corvette ZR-1 from 1990 to 1995.
GM Authority speculates that Chevrolet could bring back the LT5 engine designation for this rumored 2018 motor.

All this evidence points to the DOHC engine as a hallmark feature of some as-yet-unspecified top-of-the-line Corvette for 2018.
Will the new motor feature in the return of the Corvette ZR1, which made 650 horses on its last appearance?
Or could it be slated for the oft-rumored mid-engine Corvette? We'll know for certain when 2018 rolls around.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...hc-v8-in-2018/

This is the reason for the multi-million dollar upgrades occurring at Tonawanda Engine to build this DOHC screamer.

need a detuned V-8

for the Camaro maybe 425HP
or kick up the V-6 to 375HP or so.
that would be nice.
