I just called afe power, spoke to a British sounding person, cool cat. 4 weeks away. Still in final testing. Called around the begining of this month and that's what they basically said then too.

Still waiting.

They claim +15HP, does that sound right? Seems kinda high to me.

445 dollars. pretty expensive. I'm curious how much the GM one will be.

It's usually "up to xx hp". So it can mean anywhere from 0-15.

Then you have to factor in if that's a tuned setup or not...

And then even further, depending on the type of dyno used.

And the one thing sooooo many people miss out on... are you talking peak gains, or avg gains?

Many people who obsess over hp and to figures, have, can and will write off parts ,cause the gains overall may be low...5-9hp. Yet they never look at where some parts gain 12-15 hp in a certain rpm band. Kinda like how ported manifolds were beneficial to the lfx engines from JacFab.

Many factors to have as variables. Ultimately it depends on what you plan to do with the car.

You're absolutely right, didn't look at it like that. I just looked over CAI's for the V8, which said 11-13HP gain. Thought it was weird the V6 would have more gain from an intake. I'm excited to finally see one of these being released.

They have the GM intake listed as $400 for the V6 model, but since it hasn't been released (and shows no estimated release date) I'm not sure how accurate that price will be.

Hmm.. I wonder if the v6 one will come with a tune. I guess I'll wait to see.

General rule of thumb with most cars... the more hp it has, the more it potentially gains for adding similar parts.

Ie.when I had my cavalier nearly 2 decades ago, dyno 86 hp to the wheels. An intake at max back then may get you to 91. Do the full Tribeca of basic bolt ons, intake headers and exhaust. You might get 15-20hp.

But once you get to cars pushing nearly 3 times that amount, the gains from those 3 parts on the more powerful car net maybe 15-40 hp in the end.

But it's all relative to all the other variables.

And def in the same boat...EXCITED TO FINALLY SEE PARTS.

I seriously was doubting whether the aftermarket was gonna stay the drizzling sh**S for this car and questioned myself on should I have gotten a mustang.....many times.

I'm glad we're finally getting something. I think if we wouldn't have been forced to wait a whole year just to get an air intake, there'd probably be more people still interested in buying one. Abandoning projects when you're "a couple weeks from release" is pretty bad for business, I'm sure.

I also remember reading a couple of other companies that were supposed to produce CAI a few months ago but they apparently disappeared as well.

K&N and some of the companies they own testfit and prototyped on my car back in Feb. Eibach too.

I guess there just isn't any real demand.
