New Twin-Disc Clutch for SS
Hi Guys, the team here at Centerforce is happy to announce that we are now offering our widely popular DYAD dual-disc system for the 6th gen Camaro SS. Many of you will already be familiar with our DYAD from its history in performance street and track vehicles. If you are planning a forced-induction, or high-power street/strip build, this is the ultimate clutch solution for you!
The DYAD stands apart from other clutches, not only in its performance, but also in the technology behind it. With a holding capacity of up to 1300 crank ft/lbs, it can easily handle just about any supercharged or turbo setup you can throw at it. Often times, clutch units with this high of a clamping load will have a harsh engagement and stiff pedal, but we have achieved an operation that's even easier than stock using our patented design. To ensure a smooth engagement, we use organic friction material, as opposed to the more aggressive ceramic compounds, along with our centrifugal weight technology. These small weights add more clamping force the faster the clutch is spinning, which equates to a softer pedal than what would normally be required to hold the same amount of torque. Have you heard the complaints of clutch-in chatter from others owners with heavy duty twin disks? We have eliminated this issue on the DYAD through our floating second disc that is driven off the first disc, instead of the input shaft. What all of this means is that with the DYAD, you have a clutch for your Camaro that can be beat on at the track one day, then cruised around town the next day with the same amount of ease. The clutch kits come pre-assembled with a lightened steel flywheel, and include everything required for installation: new ARP hardware, pilot bearing and alignment tool. We'd like to know what you guys think, and are happy to answer any questions you may have! |

Very sophisticated design, shifts smoother and quicker than other twin disc setups since it's setup to act like a single and only drive one plate off of the input shaft, but has the twin plate grip needed for high hp, works great in my 800+rwhp Gen5, well thought out product.

Is that the same one you guys put on a blue 2SS with mag ride but no NPP, if so i here it did grate on the car, with drivability at low speed, post some more info on that part.

It is that Blue SS. The Centerforce Twin is by far superior to the factory twin. The dual mass flywheel the factory one comes with creates a lot of low speed drivability issues. Having the lighter clutch also allows the engine to rev quicker which feels like an added 20 hp. It feels better, engages smoother and makes driving in traffic a lot easier.

Very nice, I had a Dual Friction kit on my first Camaro, couldn't hardly get that thing to slip!

This is something I am looking into. Reading some good things about the DYAD.
The benefit of lighter mass is what Might get me throwing one of these in.

Is the weight reduction comparable to what you might expect from switching to an aluminum flywheel in that the engine revs up much faster no-load?

Yes, that is correct; less flywheel and clutch mass means less energy is required from the motor and better acceleration.

At this time we do not have a forum member discount, but you can usually find some great deals if you keep an eye on our authorized dealers like JDP, especially with the holidays coming up!
