0-60 for A10 is 3.5s, what about M6?

I was hoping the M6 could do a 3.5s 0-60, but with the recent performance figure announcement, I'm losing hope.

Only thing I'm holding onto is that it is geared to hit 60mph in 1st gear, which I think is quite possible. That might help a little.

Did the previous ZL1 hit 60 in 1st gear?

What do you think the M6 time will be?

My guess it probably a 3.8 0 - 60. I don't think 60 mph is achievable in 1st gear with the way the ZL1 is geared. It should be a fun and brutal car with the stick.

Whatever the number is it stands to reason that GM is going to post their best time achieved. That being said if the M6 ran it in 3.6, 3.8 or so they aren't going to include that in their initial results because it would take away from the cars overall appeal. Look at it this way. Assuming two different drivers were to match up with two identical Camaros. If both were automatics it's highly likely that their respective times would be very comparable and more consistent than if both were to repeat those runs in a manual car. There is less variable. I'm sure by now however that someone is already preparing the auto vs manual thread comparison for us all. Can't wait to hear that rhetoric.

This is probably very close but the gearing in the rear will drive it all. the GT500 had 3.31s and did not require a shift for a 0-60 time.

Anyone know what the rear gear will be in the ZL1 manual vs auto?

Actually, 3.5 is the GM official time. You can rest assured the magazines will do better and the drag racing community better still. All said and done I would not be surprised to see the manual do a 3.5 or 3.6 and the auto do a 3.2 or 3.3.

But that appears to be the official time for the A10 transmission. The question is what can the M6 do "officially" per GM. We can all assume that magazines or owners will get slightly better times.

I'm pretty sure the rear gear for the manual will still be 3.73. For the auto I think it is a little different than the Z06's 2.41 rear gear but not exactly sure.

M6 = 3.73
A10 = 2.85

The ZL1's TR-6060 is to have revised ratios and will dump one of the OD gears, leaving 6th as the only OD. This will make 5th 1:1 and you'll have 4 "racing/power" gears. I'd find it unlikely you'd see 0-60 in 1st only on this car with a 3.73 rear gear and a 6,600RPM fuel cut off (if it has the same fuel cutoff as the Z06's LT4)

From my math, with a 3.73 R/P, 27.2" tall tires and a 6600RPM fuel cut off, you'd have to have 2.39:1 as your 1st trans gear and you'd hit ~59.93MPH right at the absolute limit.

I believe the 2016 Camaro SS TR-6060 is a 2.66:1 1st gear... so, I suppose it's possible they'd lower 1st since you'll have the PD Blower to pull the gear and not fry the tires.. But, we'll see and they may leave 1st alone and tighten the spread from 2-4 since 2 is a pretty decent drop from 1 on the SS's 6 speed. (which is what I'd see as more likely)

Though, unless they raise the fuel cutoff.. We'll need to see a 2.39 or smaller 1st to see 60MPH in 1st.

...although, the C7 Z06 TR-6070's 1st appears to be a 2.29:1 -- so, I suppose it's possible, but they do have 7 gears to play around with (even though 3 of those are ODs)

Does anyone know if the time was NHRA certified, asking for a friend.

No, you need to be in 2nd gear to hit 60 on the 5th Gen ZL1.

Top speed in 2nd gear is 74mph, 3rd gear is 104mph before rev limiter for the 5th gen 6spd.
