2017 ZL1 is Getting Line Lock!
check this link from autoblog
http://www.autoblog.com/2016/06/26/2...-burnout-mode/ Quote:
The function is activated through the launch control menu when the car is in Track mode and the transmission is in Drive or first gear. Once the line is activated in lock in the instrument cluster screen, the driver presses 80 pounds of pressure on the brake pedal. A status bar in the multifunction screen show a readout up to 100 percent. Then, mash the gas and light up the tires. The feature is intended for prepping for a drag strip run. But wait, there's more. Press both center buttons on the steering wheel pads - cruise control on the left and select on the right - and a rolling burnout kicks in. Line lock works for 15 seconds before cutting throttle. |

It does not look like line lock to me. You can see a small movement forward before it takes a set and does the burn out. A line lock would have prevented that slight movement forward.

Ya if I were a betting man I would say it's not going to have linelock. I've messed with the C7Z06 a ton and I haven't found it in there either.
While it would be neat to have, it's not really needed unless you plan on doing a lot of serious tracking/burnouts. |

Al O himself said it will have custom launch control with line lock.

This was mentioned in Al O. Facebook post and details in Today's autoblog.....

When I was waiting for my Hellcat I loved watching video reviews, but honestly the giggling burnouts got a bit old after a while. |

Also, 15 seconds seems like a long time before throttle is cut ??!!??

If that really is the case, it's going to be awesome. Quite possibly one of the best, if not the best ways ever incorporated in a car. Can't wait to know for sure...

Thank you for the link.. After that, there were some great other news articles and videos. I liked the "guess" that a new GM Halo car ( mid engine) won't be a Corvette and maybe a Caddy

Confused how this works on a manual... You can't push the brake 80% then mash the gas as its described, while still holding down the brake. You need to switch your feet.
So how would that workout? |

The way it works on Mustangs with a manual is that you start by requesting line lock with the steering wheel controls. Then you have to have your foot firmly on the brake pedal for a few seconds. After that you'll see confirmation on the dash display that line lock is engaged, so you can release the brake pedal and move your foot to the clutch to prepare for the burnout.
