Is there a way to customize what shows on the HUD?

The only option is to cycle through the info button for the HUD on the left side of the steering wheel and select which screen you want to show.

We still never figured out the whole speed limit display did we? I clearly don't have it, no Nav option in my car.

Don't think we did, but all indications are the data is stored in NAV. I think Glen's car is "special" .

RS
Lighting and convienence pkg
Onstar working
XM Working

But this may be it, as it's only available in certain areas

Mine works..I get the posted speed limit and of course the speed that I'm doing. Now, it doesn't post the speed limits on every road as Glen indicates above. It must be posted.

IS IT POSSIBLE THE ONSTAR CONNECTION HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT? ONSTAR HAS THE ABILITY TO DISPLAY DIRECTIONS ON THE SCREEN RIGHT?

My specific city is listed, but I don't have the speed limit option...I know when I had my Traverse LTZ with Nav a few years back, I had the traffic option from XM until the trial ran out,

"The Traffic Speed info is not Speed Limit information, but actual traffic flow(congestion). Here's the info on how they get it from the XM FAQ:

Why is traffic flow information available only on some roads?
Traffic flow information is fed to SiriusXM Traffic by roadway sensors or GPS equipped trucks. The availability of these feeds varies city by city and is limited by road infrastructure and maintenance or the availability of sufficient GPS equipped trucks.

SiriusXM is continuing to incorporate alternative traffic monitoring technologies that will increase availability, speed and flow of roadway data.

Please note, if your onboard map database is outdated, the navigation system may have trouble utilizing all data made available by SiriusXM Traffic broadcasts."

There's no way to send information to XM, you are only receiving signal from the satellite. The only way for the car to display speed limit info is A)the car knows where you are exactly(GPS) B)the car has to have a road database with this info stored for the road you are on(NAV). So XM could have this data stored but it wouldn't know where your car is unless it had access to your car's position via GPS, but that would require your car to send the data to the satellite (which it can't do). Could the data be downloaded to the car and then the onboard GPS and myLink do the work of plotting where you are? Sure, but look at that last note on the XM FAQ.

"Please note, if your onboard map database is outdated, the navigation system may have trouble utilizing all data made available by SiriusXM Traffic broadcasts."

That tells me XM is using onboard map information (NAV) for plotting traffic. So even if XM was the source of Speed Limit info, it would make sense for it to use onboard maps like the Traffic Link does. XM's site also states that their product availability varies by vehicle hardware for the 2016 Camaro.

So again I'm back to pointing out that Glen's (or himself lol) is special. Glen have you had your myLink updated since you first saw the Speed Limit show on yours?
