New Gen 5 Owner

Hey everyone,

I bought a brand new 2015 Camaro 3.6L base model about a month ago. I wanted the SS but I didn't want to strain my budget on payments and insurance, so I figured I'd look into alternatives to achieve a greater output. I have a general understanding of how the LFX is built and I have found a bolt on supercharger from IPF that I might save up for so I can slap it on when the warranty expires. At any rate, I was wondering if any of you guys have heard of or applied any engine modifications for the LFX motor.

Welcome.

I was just in Tucson the other day for business.

Post some pics of your new ride!

Checkout the LFX sub forums here. Lots of great information.

I'd start with:

CAI (Cold Air Inductions)
Vmax TB
Catch Can

That's the basics. You can always upgrade brakes and suspension when your ready.

Enjoy the new ride and welcome to the Camaro family!

Thanks, man! She's a little dirty since it's been raining a lot the last few weeks. I've been looking at some CAI's, any brands you'd recommend? I think that's about the only thing I can modify without voiding the warranty.

Nice ... When in comes to CAI, you'll get a lot of opinions as to which one to go with, seems everyone has their favorite for differing reasons. Personally, I am happy with the K&N I installed.

Welcome!
I'm down in Sierra Vista. You might want to join the Tucson camaro club.

Congrats and welcome to C5!

My top 4 mod recommendations (in order of preference for your car):
Apex Catch Can
CAI, Inc. cold air intake
MRT V2 axle-back exhaust
VTC throttle controller

Not cheap, but well worth it. Catch Can first - protect your engine!

Welcome I'm located in Rio Rico. Really small town located a few miles south of Green Valley. First thing I did for a performance mod was my exhaust, which has also been my only performance mod. First I did my exterior upgrades with audio upgrades as well. Now looking into getting more performance upgrades. Many in the LFX section will tell you CAI and Roto-fab are the way to go. I personally love the sound and look of the Roto-fab. That will be my choice when I have enough money to get one. Vmax TB would also be a nice mod for your engine. Goodluck and once again welcome to Camaro5

Get a catch can ASAP. It keeps octane dilution to a minimum and reduces intake valve coking. Mid 13's is about the best you're going to get out of these engines unless you go F.I. or use nitrous. The Fabberge TT kit is nice and good for 11's, but it's $$$.
