Gen 5 ZL1 or new Gen 6 SS?

If you compare the numbers, the new gen 6 Camaro ss seems to not be far off of the current zl1.
0-60 for the zl1 is 3.8 or 3.9 but 4 flat for the new SS
1/4 mile time for the zl1 is around 12 flat but I've seen faster and slower.
The new ss is supposed to do it in around 12.3 which Im sure they're will be members that can beat that when people start picking them up.

So my question is, which would you rather buy for low to mid $40k range. A used gen 5 zl1 or a brand new gen 6 camaro SS?

Edit: To most people the zl1 looks just like the all the other 5 gens, which there are way too much of. So I feel like the new 6th gen will catch the attention of people just like the camaro did in 2010 when they came out.

I just feel like there are way too many 5th gens on the road now a days for them to be real attention getters... But just my opinion.

They turn my head every time i see one. The 6th gen will be just like the 5th gen when it came out. A show stopper, but I doubt it'll last as long as the 5th gens did. IMO

I agree.
5th gen looks better. That's why I want to pay mine off in the next year and either get a zl1 or gen 6 SS. Just can't decide.

6th, .2 0-60 less for a N.A. if I didn't already have a 5th gen.

Based soley upon the rave reviews of the driving characteristics of the ATS, I would lean towards the 6th Gen. While the LSA engine provides more power, perhaps the 6th gen will be an overall better performer. With the fairly substantial weight reduction, I'd bet it would be suprisingly competitive with the ZL1, even in a straight line. But we don't really know yet.

After having seen the 6th Gen in person that choice is easy. It is a huge improvement over the 5th Gen in every department.

Used, outdated Camaro or brand new 6th gen? Like that's even a question.

I'd rather have a brand new GTR than two 6 Gens
