I just placed my order! 2016 Camaro 2SS
My dealer gave me a call at 8AM. I went down and now have my order document in hand. (Will post a pic once I get to a PC)
The order is accepted and will be applied to my dealers allocation once they get those details. As of now the dealer doesn't know what allocation they will get up front. They mentioned in 2009 they got all V6's allocated in their first order. They assume this time will be different. They mentioned allocation should open up in August. I assume it will be the 13th based on the leaked images we have seen. But oh my Lord I am so pumped to have put my order in. Here is what I think it will look like.

Nice! so how does the process go? I've never placed an order on a new car. So people will be getting their cars in August? hmm I need one! Also do they need a deposit or no? what if the prices are revealed and people cannot afford the 2SS? it can be canceled im assuming?

Have to love dealers! Arguing with mine now, insisting that orders can be placed at the end of September...told him to just go ahead and try. He is trying now, told him orders are being placed and accepted today! Will update when he gets back to me.

So the first two order get accepted by GM and get sent off to get built. The other 98 have to wait for more allocation or go to a dealer that has allocation available. The rumor is, on 8/13 that allocation is assigned. When the 5th gene launched some dealers got stuck with V6 allocations only and everyone who wanted V8s had to wait. Once GM accepts the orders, the cars will be built. But we will not see them until October \ November timeline. But no one really knows.
