Whats going to happen to the Oshawa plant?

I couldn't find any search results on forum.
Is Oshawa plant closing permanently in 2016?

What's going to happen to all the employees?

Oshawa is a large plant. Moving the Camaro line to Lansing should not affect its other operations. The latest articles on the subject don't appear to be new, so I expect that Oshawa will remain open.

I'm pretty sure Oshawa/ GM's CAMI Automotive Plant is closing. The Equinox, Regal, Impala, XTS are all moving production locations, and nothing new is slated for Oshawa, at least that's what I gather from reading articles on the subject.

Look at Detroit's former factories to find out.

Was always a fan of GM, but to "minimally" meet contract requirements by Ontario's government, and slip out of Oshawa, may change the way I think - and buy - in the future. Canada is overpricing our labour, but you can't beat the work force. Quality costs more. simple as that. Somebody making $40/hr is going to be more motivated to produce a quality product than somebody who is making $20/hr. I guess we'll see what the future brings. As far as I can see it, Oshawa is a lost cause after 2016/17.

I thought the federal government was throwing a ton of cash that way to create/save jobs?

yes i don't have an opinion or the economics background, but I hope it does better up here ,as the oil patch just tanked
maybe the east can have a turn for the good with the lower dollar helping the manufacturing sector, me it won't help one bit GLTA

I hope the Lansing plant produces a product of equal quality. I have a funny feeling it won't.
