HELP! GRINDING TRANSMISSION?

I have owned my 2014 Camaro 2SS for about 7 months now and it has not given me any problems, until this morning! I got in my car and when I shifted from Park to Drive, I hear this loud crunching grinding noise! What could possibly be wrong with my car??
Here is a link to the video of the noise! I recorded it so hopefully someone on this forum could tell me if its serious!

Call the dealer. If its definitely the transmission, I'd get it fully replaced under warranty. I wouldn't want those guys (some guys in the service department know what they're doing, but if its busy, you may not get the 'uber pro') taking it apart trying to fix it.

You may have to drive a Malibu for a couple weeks, but it would probably be better doing something like this now for hopefully less long-term issue.

But definitely let the dealer look at it and have 'em give you a rental. Lettuce know how it goes.

It's hard to tell from the video but it sounds to me as if the sound is coming from the shift assembly itself. Hopefully this is the case because it's an easy dealer repair.

I'd say shift assembly too so not a big deal to fix I'm sure.

Shift assembly...to prove this, move the lever with the engine off. That is not transmission noise in my opinion. Should be a very easy fix!

Hey Logan,

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing a concern this early on in ownership! Please let us know if you decide to head into the dealership, we'd be happy to look into your visit further.
