Got Rear ended!!

I was at a red light and look in rear view mirror to see this crap 1998 Mazda B2500 2 door small pickup coming too fast I hear brakes squeal and then smash right into the back of my car. I say what the Fuuuuckkkk!! before I get out then get out and ask the guy what the hell were you doing he claims I looked down and look back up and I was stopped.... Camaro held up pretty well I'd say.

Car will be good as new. No reason to get angry. These things happen. Glad everyone is alright!

I wonder how much damage is behind that bumper? From the way the bumper looks on the mazda it looks like he hit you hard.

He will try and wiggle out of it and claim it was your fault but looks like your getting a new bumper cover and diffuser.

I had a girl rear end me 5 years in a Mustang I had, she was texting and hit me going like 35mph, totaled her POS Honda Civic, did $2500 in damage to my Mustang. A argument broke out between her husband and me because I told them they should have been driving instead of texting, the cops came and had to keep us apart because I was gonna pop that little mexican in his eye for running his mouth. Luckily they had insurance and State Farm paid for everything but the accident also went onto my driving record even though I wasnt at fault and it just fell off my record in April of this year....Same will probably happen to you...

If you run into the back of someone it is almost always your fault. No wiggling out of those in most cases.

Best thing to do in these situations is to take the high road. Ask the other person if they are OK? Once you verify no one needs medical attention get away from them and do not talk to them. Do not apologize, admit guilt, or interact with them. Talk only to the police once they arrive. HArd to do sometimes but it is what any insurance company recommends

I agree with you but its hard sometimes when people run their mouths and even though its their fault if you get rear ended it does end up on your driving record, just another reason for the insurance companies to raise your rates.....sad but true.

Happy everyone is ok.

As to the truck driver's statement: How could anyone behind a Camaro driver see what the driver is doing in the front seat?

Maybe in a convertible with the top down. A coupe? I don't think so.

I fail to see how that's even a possibility, given the fact that he was at a dead stop.....In California if someone rear-ends you, it's totally their fault, regardless....and it doesn't go on your driving record (thankfully).

Are those cragers on the truck?!?! You lucky you didn't get tagged with street racing.

I'm always worried about someone running into the back of me. Glad you weren't hurt and the damage doesn't look that bad.

Tell me about it-those guys suck. I had a 99 S-10 the was hit in the right rear-totally cosmetic....anyhow I go to sell the dang thing years later on Craigslist and some guy is like 'Carfax says your truck was totalled' (I'm like WTH??). I explained to him that was not the case, that the carfax report was incorrect and that I had ALL receipts of any accident that happened and what exactly was fixed. Anyhow, he keeps going back and forth with me on email until I got blunt and said "look, if you wanna buy the truck, then fine, you know the price, otherwise STFU and leave me alone."

The guy was cited for following to close and I've contacted his insurance and they approved my Chevrolet dealer to start. I'm wondering what the damage Is behind the bumper also
