What's the Best GM Performance Exhaust for the SS with AFM (Active Fuel Management) ?
This would be for a brand new car so I would like to keep AFM on. Is there any GM performance exhaust that sounds good with this? Catback or Axleback ????
I was told most sound very bad and drone when the AFM kicks in? I would like a mush better V8 sound but no drone and bad sound with the AFM if that can be done? Thanks, |

I don't think there is a very good GM one for the L99. You will want to look at aftermarket cat back system. Corsa has a good system that I think works well on the L99, and I know the Solo j-pipes are GREAT at cutting out drone. Hope that helps.

Corsa and Solo would be the "best" choice, both will give equal results. I can tell you I went with Corsa and ripped it back off within 1 hour AFM (went back to stock) annoyed me so much, Solo will be no better.
And don't confuse drone with AFM noise, 2 totally different things. You will be drone free with Corsa and Solo but will not be AFM sound free. You'll still get the bogging, fart sound when it kicks in. Unless you're going to tune or go with a Range device , believe me leave it stock. |

If you want to keep the AFM than keep the stock exhaust. Anything you put on your car will sound like ass when the AFM kicks in.
May I ask why you want to keep AFM on? I’ve ran the Range device for over a year with no problems and saw absolutely no change in MPG. |

Don't mean to take over your post but so if I buy a range device and a corsa exhaust that has quads it would give off that mean sound?

After having my car tuned I do agree with this, love my Corsa
Depends on what you consider mean. I love my Corsa but some find it a bit raspy. |

Do you have like a sound clip?

I use Corsa catbacks. I wanted something louder than stock but without waking the neighbors every morning. No drone and the AFM doesn't bother me. Since I cruise a lot, the savings on gas outweighs the AFM issue. My biggest issue with the Corsa/AFM combo is with stationary revving. The AFM kicks in after a few seconds and quiets the car down a bit. Would rather a nice constant roar. However, when travelling, you do get a nice sound every time you step on the gas.

I have the dual, but I've heard them side by side on an SS and the sound is very similar.

I would like to hear the Corsa with AFM on? Is it loud? Dose it sound bad inside the car?
I'm having a hard time thinking with the AFM I have to stay stock or it will sound bad. |

I've had mine in practically non-stop for well over a year and it has consistently out-performed the AFM mpgs.
