Stop sales recall all new Camaros as of 6/13/2014

I just back to see my new 1le arrived and was told even if it did they can't sell it till chevrolet supplies them with new ignition switch. So it's going to sit on the lot and then have steering column taken apart with a mechanic sitting on the new interior. Possible scratches on the column. Then they are going to off free car washes. Whoopee! , when the day comes I am going to have friend look at the repair. I want invoice or just order a 2015 if it has any scratches

This sucks , I thought this was a cruze issue, now I have to wait even longer

My Z/28 arrived at the dealer today, the same day you no doubt heard about the Camaro recall. The email from my dealer:


Mike,
Its here, but can't be sold, there is a stop sale on all Camaro.
We have no word on how long the stop will be on.


Friday the 13th deserves its reputation.

Its not yours untill you take delivery. I have the same issue with my 2014 ordered end of may, might just order a 2015 now and hope for push button start. No big deal.

So you guys are saying that the new 2014 2SS I'm going to pick up Saturday will at some time be recalled for ignition switch replacement?

You won't be able to pick it up as a stop delivery order was issued from GM.

Attention: Dealer, Dealer Principal, General Manager, General Sales, Manager, New Vehicle Sales Manager, Used Vehicle Sales, Manager, Parts and Service Director and Service Manager

STOP DELIVERY ORDER

Effective immediately, stop the delivery of all 2010-2014 model year Chevrolet Camaro vehicles currently in transit to dealers as well as those already in new and used vehicle inventory for an ignition key issue. According to GM records, the total number of involved U.S. vehicles currently in new vehicle inventory is 34,233.

All 2010-2014 model year Chevrolet Camaro vehicles that are in dealer inventory (new and used) must be held and not delivered to customers, dealer traded, or used for demonstration purposes until further instructions are received.

Instructions for releasing the involved vehicles from this stop delivery will be provided in the near future.

Please do not call GM Technical Assistance.
