135MPH results in OnStar Emergency

When I go over 135MPH at the track, my emergency flashers come on and the radio displays "OnStar Emergency" and then OnStar calls the car asking what the emergency is? There are a couple variables but the emergency flashers and OnStar emergency happens every time. The only way to turn off the flashers is to turn the vehicle off, which isn't something you want to do during a lap.

Below are some variables that might be coincidence or directly related.
1. The first time it happened I did get a "Vehicle Speed Sensor" code.
2. My airbag light is always on as I no longer have airbag seats or airbags in pillars due to cage.

In my trouble shooting, I did read in another forum that this happened to Hennessy during a high speed run. So I am hoping I am not the only one and someone can tell me exactly what the fix is.

Pulling the fuse to OnStar does fix the emergency call to OnStar but it doesn't stop the emergency flashers from coming on. People look at you a little funny as you go around the track with your flashers on.

Thanks

not saying it's not happening to you, but I have run 135+ several times and never got this? My onstar is active?

I must be related to pulling the air bags or something because I still had my onstar subscription when my speedo was showing over 200 and it didn't trigger anything. Plus I have totally spun the car at the track without any calls from the onstar folks. Maybe mine is not as sensitive...

Agreed, something changed with the installation of the cage, as this was not an issue prior to that.

I just thought that if anyone else ever had it happen, it might be helpful to understand what caused it other than hitting the button on the mirror.

I also have been 135+ and didn't trigger anything. I agree it has something to do with the Airbag removal.

I've been ^ 135 and no flashers or anything else. I did get thumbs up at the end of the closed course run though......

A friend of mine had this and he just plugged a simple code scanner into the J box under the dash and when u hit 135 or above it and notices you don't have airbags it calls on star because are cars are "limited to 135" and they think that something is wrong because there are no airbags ready to deployed. Idk if he ever fixed it, but I believe there Is a way to
Bypass the airbag sensors.

That is good to know because I have been strongly considering removing the A-pillar air bags to shed some more weight on the car.... especially since I already have a roll bar also. I guess I'll keep that 15 pounds right where it is...

Lmao not so closed course. I may have been on the same course and ran over 135 for around 5-8 min with no issues.

There used to be a resistor work around to fool it into thinking airbags are there
