LT1 with a 1.9@7psi=AWESOMENESS

Bone stock LT1 with a 1.9@7psi puts down some impressive power. I can't wait to see this mill with more boost and some bolt-ons...

Except its on about half the boost but then again that's the beauty of higher compression and DI. It should be a monster with heads/cam and a turbo!!!

Doesn't the LSA (that powers the current ZL1 and CTS-V) have a 1.9L supercharger? I wonder if we'll see similar numbers to above for the next ZL1 and CTS-V? Which, by the way, if anyone didn't watch the video, it ran 621 hp @ 6517 RPM and 617 tq @ 3417 RPM.

You have to remember that even though its the same size blower the lt1 has much higher compression and DI which is why makes much more power at lower boost then a lsa ever could.

Right, I got that. I was simply saying that if the Gen V equivalent to the current LSA (which should be LT1 based) uses the same size supercharger (1.9L) it should be capable of similar numbers as shown in the video.

I've been saying this ever since the announcement of the LT1. We see pretty nice numbers when the V6 (which has much of the same tech and high compression) only uses 8 to 9 psi of boost.

I figured the same would be said for this engine, that at a moderate boost pressure it would produce big numbers.

Awesome stuff.

So what would this equate to on a chassis dyno.....maybe 540ish? Is that really that much better than the LS3? I'm by no means trying to be negative, but rather asking as I don't know.

More than likely GM will lower the compression ratio on a possible LSA replacement, you know, for safely reasons. Meaning that they won't seek max power over max durability. They could, but they won't, it's not the way the industry does things.
