Any GM parts experts in here who have a minute to take a look at this?

This is my Camaro's original front bumper cover from 2009: It says Made in Canada.

This is a replacement bumper installed at a local bodyshop in 2010: It says Made in Canada.

This is another replacement bumper cover I just got which I ordered from a bodyshop who painted and shipped it to me on 11/2012. It says EXPORT. It does not say Made in Canada.

My question: Is the bumper cover stamped "EXPORT" a genuine GM replacement bumper cover or is it an aftermarket knock off?

Thanks in advance.

Do you see the GM parts numbers on it? If not then its aftermarket.

i suspect that cover was meant for Camaros exported out of North America..

In most parts guides the parts not typically available for purchase in the U.S. are stamped "EXPORT" or "EXPORT ONLY"

I am a little concerned with why you have gone through so many bumpers?

I was waiting for someone to ask this. The factory bumper came with a license plate holder riveted in . In the midst of removing it I damaged the bumper. I was quoted a better price to buy a new bumper and have it painted than to have the original repaired and repainted. This is why bumper cover#2 took place.

When I installed my Corsa exhaust system, my floor jack failed and in an attempt to drive my Camaro off some wooden blocks, one block wedged under the bumper creasing and slightly tearing it. That's why bumper cover #3 took place.

The bumper in question is #3 and I hope it is the last one.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ok, thanks. The EXPORT bumper cover does have the GM part numbers.

Sir I'm afraid I'm going to have to take your Camaro. It's for it's own protection.

As long as it does not say Made in China you should be good.

It's good. It has the GM stamp and GM part numbers. It says EXPORT where the others say Made in Canada. No made in China stamped anywhere. I guess my bumper was meant to go to Europe. It fits fine and looks fine. I just was curious, that's all. Thanks for you wisdoms.

I'd rather have a bumper cover made in china vs many of the other parts that are.

Your good though. It's legit.

Camaro is assembled in Canada. So actually the entire car is an export from Canada. We are driving a foreign car. Mustang and Challenger are made in the USA.
